Alternates not working? (beginner)

I am trying to change my site so the tags are displayed without a caption.
I made and alternate in the theme's view folder with name Parts.Tags.ShowTags.cshtml and modified this code:

"@if (tagsHtml.Any()) {
<p class="tags">
    @foreach(var htmlString in tagsHtml) { @htmlString }

by deleting the "<span>@T("Tags:")</span>"
This does not seem to change the rendered HTML at all.
Can someone tell if I made a mistake or...?
Thank you

Di you copy the view to the root of the theme's Views folder? That should work. It's not even an alternate, just a shape override. I'm sure the theme is enabled and active?
Are you able to override other shape templates, such as Parts.Title.cshtml for example (found in Orchard.Core/TitleViews)?

Hi, thank you for the answer
I was strict and did the things as in the documentation. However, the problem was related to my browser\s cache. Even I have disabled the cache, sometimes I need to restart the site from my hosting control panel for the last changes to take effect. With this on mind I am somehow OK now :)
Thanks again
