Media Library: Error uploading pdf files

Orchard Version: 1.8.1 upgraded to 1.9.1
Issue: Image files upload fine and display as expected however when uploading a PDF file, I get the following error.

My guess would be a configuration issue but I don't know where to look. Any help will be appreciated.
