Hopefully this is the proper forum for asking these questions. I'm a state gov't webmaster trying to find a CMS for a mid-sized agency website. Have been looking at DNN but since they switched to C# and I'm a VB.Net person, I started to worry that I wouldn't
be able to do code maintenance and bug fixing on my own. So if a VB CMS is out maybe I need to broaden my search...
Not sure about Orchard, is it a C++ project? How difficult is it to move over an existing website into Orchard, do you have to literally do every page individually? Does it have the ability to use Active Directory for authentication? Where can I see it in action,
to see if all Orchard websites "have the same appearance" or not?
Thanks for any clarification or assistance you can offer!

Orchard is written in C# and built with ASP.NET MVC.
It's hard to say how difficult it is to move over an existing website, because that really depends on what functionality the website currently has and how much of it comes from its current CMS and how this maps to Orchard. Not to mention one's experience with
Orchard does support Active Directory but not yet out of the box unfortunately. I believe @SebastienRos is working on that, and there may be a module for that out there, but not sure what state it is in. At the very least that could serve as a starting point
if you had to implement it yourself of course.
You can try Orchard out via http://tryorchard.net/
, or by creating a site via
, via Microsoft Azure (Orchard is available there via the gallery), or by simply installing WebMatrix and getting Orchard through the gallery.
Regarding site appearance, you'll see that Orchard does not restrict you to any kind of design - pretty much any design works by
creating your own theme
