Getting the following error after upgrading to 1.9 when trying to use content search.

Invalid search query: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: key

Any ideas how to fix is appreciated. It was working fine with 1.81.

Please file a bug with a repro on Github, we definitely changed some things there which might have created the issue.

Will do. Thx.

That error is displayed if no fields have been selected for any of the indexes (via admin menu -> Search). The error message is kind of vague, so could definitely use some improvements.

sfmskywalker was correct but I didn't understand what he was saying. I'm assuming this will happen to anyone migrating from 1.81 to 1.9 since the admin search wasn't available in 1.81 or at least I wasn't aware of it.

Anyhow, as sfmskywalker mentioned you have to go into settings > search and select admin search and make sure you have a field box selected. I also had to set the index for the content types to admin and then I manually updated admin indexes under settings. I'm sure this would have automatically taken place had I not updated them, but all good now. Thx!
