27th of January, 2015 - Video

  • 00:00 - Status: errors are now logged for Background Tasks, Bertrand is working on the Deployment module, jQuery and jQueryUI updated to 1.11.2, several other bugfixes.
  • 17:22 - Demo by Lombiq - ability to uninstall a Gallery module. Data Migrations now properly support the "Uninstall" method for e.g. deleting content types created by the module.
  • 29:43 - Demo by Harry Westbrook - Orchardizer Visual Studio extension for scaffolding themes and modules. Adds wizards for creating and configuring content parts and content types and then generates the code-behind. "Generate Migration" creates/updates a Migrations class based on a selected model class. You can grab the source code too from its repository.
  • 41:10 - Demo by Nick - Brochard updates. Entity Framework is now supported, but probably not a good choice for Orchard.

3rd of February, 2015 - Video

  • 00:00 - UberConference may be the final solution for hosting the podcast.
  • 02:06 - Agenda.
  • 03:20 - Status: bugfixes and improvements on the 1.x branch, Layout Editor updates, image editor now supports rotation, implementation for tokenized fields refactored to be usable as a jQuery extension. Currently there are 14 high-priority bugs to fix before 1.9.
  • 16:35 - Demo by Daniel (Layout editor): adding elements refactored to a Workflows-like toolbox for easier use (with drag&drop). Drop targets are defined in a way that you can drop elements only where it makes sense and also, free space is used up first instead moving existing elements, but elements are resized if necessary. When moving elements, their target locations are now visualized more clearly. Resizing elements is possible with dragging their edges and holding the Ctrl key creates offset between adjacent elements instead of pushing/pulling them. Navigating between elements, resizing, moving and deleting them is also possible only by using the keyboard (arrow keys, Alt arrow keys, Shift (Ctrl) arrow keys, Ctrl arrow keys, Del) and Space opens the element properties. Clipboard (Ctrl C/X/V) is also supported at any level/element between any layout edited. Inline editing can be toggled for HTML-elements! There are a bunch of ideas for future features to make it even more awesome (e.g. responsive preview for different screen sizes).
  • 45:59 - Nick started a discussion about ORMs and data storage/querying (check the notes displayed at the end of the meeting).

  • Status: a lot of small changes and bugfixes since last week, including a few PRs.
  • Check out the "1.9-int" branch for the "beta" version of Orchard 1.9.
  • is live again!
  • The current 1.x source has a dependency on the TypeScript SDK to be able build the Orchard.Azure.MediaServices module's TS files. The dependency will be removed by setting those files' compile action to none (it won't be a problem though, since the JS files generated from them are also in the repo).
  • Harvest: London is the strongest contender, but Madrid is still in the hat too.
