Migrating orchard modules to git

Topics: Customizing Orchard, General

While Orchard Core was moved to git, there are a few modules (needed in almost every custom Orchard project) that are still using Mercurial. E.g. Vandelay Industries, or Orchard Profile Module, etc.

It would be great if all open source modules for Orchard were also in git...

I mean when developing a custom project in Orchard, it is convenient to have third-party modules as git subtrees in your main codebase.

Does anyone share this concern? If many people support this idea, maybe module owners would do this gift to us and migrate their modules :)

And btw, many thanks and great respect to Orchard founders and all contributors for a beautiful product :)

I absolutely agree with you. For example i want to use some modules such as Piedone.Combinator, ... as git subtree but they are using Mercurial.

Wow! Thank you so much. Does this site synchronize two repos automatically?
I want to mirror a hq repo such as Piedone.Combinator in my GitHub account.
But i cannot enter as Git clone URL. I get the following error:
Sorry but this git URL doesn't seem to be a valid URL :-(.

Hmm, I just tried exactly this URL and it works for me...
