I would like to setup Orchard with multiple tenants but have some confusions. My tenants would have separate URLs e.g. www.Tenant1.com , www.Tenant2.com so its clear that i will not using URL prefix while configuring tenants.

My main concern is how would i maintain tenant acounts ?

do i need to have a separate URL lets say www.mywebsite.com where i will host orchard website and from that website i would add up tenants ?

Can i access my hosted website on local server and just add up tenants ? so that i dont need a separate URL in order to manage tenants ?

You'll need to have Default (i.e. main, first) tenant. This is the tenant your first setup and that you can later use to manage other tenants. The Default tenant is not something all that special, you can use it as a normal site too, but it will have the additional tenants admin page.

Alternatively you could just have the Default tenant manage the tenants (that is not much; there is no ongoing "managing", only you'll be able to use it as the multi-tenancy admin).
