I am posting blog posts but when I add a new blog post, on the main blog page, by default it only shows 1 or 2 lines of text and it shows [more] link.

1) How can I increase the length of these 1 or 2 lines on blog page (in other words increase blog summary limit) ?

2) If I want to post a picture in blog post before I get the [more] link - how to do that (in other words include image in blog summary) ?

You need to create an alternate to Parts.Common.Body.Summary.cshtml in your theme, and increase the number of characters in the excerpt.

For the image, you can add a media library picker field to the blog post content type, and arrange the order of the field (before the excerpt etc.) using the placement.info of the theme.

You can find more info on the alternates, placement.info in the docs. http://docs.orchardproject.net/

Awesome! Bertrand LeRoy's Blog post Summary template works like a charm. Just what I needed this morning. Thanks for the link @Piedone
