Thanks for your time, patience and hopefully hints.

I'm trying to get a handle on the new Media Orchard 1.7 business.
The problem in short:
? how to show a picture in 3:4 (width : height) format ?
PS: all images in 4:3 format are ok!

After 3 days of 'trial and error' I'm out of ideas but I'm pretty sure I miss something.
Therefore below some more details:

Photos:
Sonnenblume_3.jpg; format: 4:3 (width : height)
Sonnenblume_9s.jpg; format: 3:4

In physical storage:
Media/Default/Pflanzen/... both are stored appropriately i.e. according to above format!

When checking in "Profiles" (4:3):

Transform_Resize_w_320_h_240_m_crop_a_middlecenter_c

Media_Default_Pflanzen_Sonnenblume_3.jpg ----> shows correctly i.e. 4:3
The View used:
Parts.Image.Summary
<a href="@Url.Content(mediaPart.MediaUrl)">
<img width="320" height="240" alt="@mediaPart.AlternateText" src="@Display.ResizeMediaUrl(Width:320, Height: 240, Mode: "crop", Alignment: "middlecenter", Path: mediaPart.MediaUrl)" />
</a>

When checking in "Profiles" (3:4):
Transform_Resize_w_240_h_320_m_crop_a_middlecenter_c

Media_Default_Pflanzen_Sonnenblume_9s.jpg ----> shows format as 3:4 . BUT photo in it is rotated by 90degrees.
The View used:
Parts.Image.Summary-url-sonnenblume-2
<a href="@Url.Content(mediaPart.MediaUrl)">
<img width="240" height="320" alt="@mediaPart.AlternateText" src="@Display.ResizeMediaUrl(Width:240, Height: 320, Mode: "crop", Alignment: "middlecenter", Path: mediaPart.MediaUrl)" />
</a>

thanks again for reading it

After some more tests I filed another discussion '458501' and based on Bertrand's suggestion an Issue '20128'

Thanks to all who spend/spent time on it
