Looking for a 'B Plan' editor which does not suppress all <span> I need in my html pages content

I am fighting since yesterday with tinyMCE and no way to have it stopping the suppression of all the <span class='xxx'></span> in the model I am using.
I tryed
extended_valid_elements: "script[type|defer|src|language],span[class|align|style]"
without success.

I am reduced to edit the body content with SQL Server !!!!!!!

So any orchard integrated editor not totally trash will be ok.
Sebastien wrote me he will have a look but he is totally busy with 1.7....

I've been happily using Markdown and Live Writer exclusively for years. Online HTML editors are all crap. All of them.

I am not used to Live Writer, isn't it exclusively for blogs ? How to connect its result to an Orchard page ?

Perhaps try CKEditor for now? Not ideal, but perhaps it won't mess with your html. Alternatively, change the flavor to text.

I am actually trying to have its last code running, but many elements broken, from the module.txt ...
My be the idea to switch text flavor is easier :)

Funny :(
I get it running (I will made a pull with corrected on codeplex) ....but it suffers from the same problem as tinyMCE in this version.
This code
<div class="row social">
    <div class="span12">
        <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Datwendo" class="facebook">
            <span class="socialicons ico1"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico1h"/>
        <a href="#" class="twitter">
            <span class="socialicons ico2"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico2h"/>
        <a href="#" class="gplus">
            <span class="socialicons ico3" />
            <span class="socialicons_h ico3h"/>
        <a href="#" class="flickr">
            <span class="socialicons ico4"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico4h"/>
        <a href="#" class="pinterest">
            <span class="socialicons ico5"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico5h"/>
        <a href="#" class="dribble">
            <span class="socialicons ico6"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico6h"/>
        <a href="#" class="behance">
            <span class="socialicons ico7"/>
            <span class="socialicons_h ico7h"/>
<div class="row copyright">
    <div class="span12">&copy; 2013 Datwendo.</div>
is reduced to
<div class="row social">
    <div class="span12">
<div class="row copyright">
    <div class="span12">
        &copy; 2013 Datwendo.</div>

I finally created a module for Telerik KendoUI Editor, the web version with GPL v3 licensing and it works as a charm....later I will push the project on bitbucket

Live Writer can edit pages, and Orchard has the provider for it.

Another alternative to using an online HTML editor is to set the flavor to text.

How does it works ? file upload ?
Any way I quite satisfied with Kendo UI editor which accept correctly any html at that date, next step would be to connect the 'coming soon' new media picker.

RPC / MetaWeblog

I tested, it's perfect for bloging.
But how could I edit classical web pages with this, it only seems to see the blog I have setup ?

Ah, yes, to apply the XML-RPC infrastructure to pages, you need this module: http://gallery.orchardproject.net/List/Modules/Orchard.Module.Contrib.RemotePages

Took a quick look and that module needs some updates to work with current Orchard version (it uses RoutePart for example).

Not so used, thanks... my kendo UI solution is ok for my actual needs

Hi csadnt,

I would be interested in how you integrated the Kendo Editor in Orchard?

Jul 15, 2013 at 10:59 AM
This is a poor man integration: no image picker because it is changing a lot actually.

Thanks. I don't have access to this repo?

Jul 15, 2013 at 11:04 AM
You must log in Bitbucket, it is normally open to all logged users
Jul 15, 2013 at 11:08 AM
I am logged in using GitHub. Should work I think?
Let me create a 'real' BitBucket' account then.

Sorry I missed the private setting, should be ok now
