Site temporary close!

Topics: Administration

Dear all,

Do we have one click to turn the site to under maintenance mode? Such as, display a message : "The site is temporary closed for maintenance, please come back later!". Or any alternative way?

Thank you,

Huy

Huy, you could use the standard asp.net app_offline.htm in the root of the site. Just create an app.offline.htm file with the neccessary content and styling in it and upload via ftp to your site. Remove or rename file when you're done to revert to site again.

If you still need to access Orchard site i.e. admin side while in maintenance mode this option will not work. I am not aware of any built in functionality in Orchard that will accomplish this. You might have to build a module that will render maintenance page while still allowing admin access to site.

Hi Garpo,

Thank you for your answer! However of course we do need to gain access to admin.

I don't mind writing a module. Could you please tell some hints? How to redirect all routes from inside a module?

Thank you,

Huy
