Hi devs,

I would like to thank you very much of this amazing project.

I have started using Orchard to develop a site, but I am a bit confused on how I should use SQL server on local and hosted machines. Should I

- Use the SQL database on the hosting server , the problem is I have to be connected all the time.

- Use SQL express on  the local machine and then syn database to the hosting machine (don't know the best way! and confused of the many ways to do it)

- Use SQLCE locally and allows migrate the database to the hosting machine.

I don't want to use SQLCE in the hosted web site as it is slower than the SQL server.

Please help me to find the best practices keeping in mind that I am planning to dev modules as well.

Thanx in advance.

Yes SQL Server is faster then SQL Server CE.

You can use Webmatrix or Visual Studio to develop websites using Orchard CMS...If you wanna work with the Source code - use Visual studio otherwise you can use Webmatrix.

Thank you abhishekluv,

It is informative article about installing Orchard, but does not help me as I am asking about how to develop a site and handle the database updates.

Thankx

Best practice would be to use SQL database on the hosting server for heavy traffic websites and SQL Server CE for low traffic websites.
