Designing a frontside dashboard page with editable widgets

What would be the best aproach to create something similar to this mockup ?

My initial thought was to create a simple content type for my dashboard page which than could be used in the configuration of the zones to display my widgets only on dashboard page. This seems to be doable just fine.

But how to approach editing of the widgets within a front-side dashboard page ? I have created a simple widget following documentation (Map Widget) and with appropriate role I see the 'edit' button that after clicking redirects me to Orchards Dashboard.

Is this even possible with Orchard build-in features or do I have to create some sort of dynamic widget that could enter edit mode itself without the use of Orchard ?

I'm not sure how Orchard can help you in any way to build this other by being a shell.

Thanks Bertrand.

So editable widgets clearly needs to be custom made.

Just to clarify :) if I'd like to give users a possibility to rearrange or allow to add/remove widgets within my dashboard page, I would need to use the content type magic for storing the state in the Orchards Database of each individual user. Is this correct ?

Yes, I suppose.
