I am very new to IIS server and Orchard.

I have recently installed Orchard to my root and it's preventing access to other directories (making them produce a 404). When I delete the web.config in the root I have access to sub directories but not to Orchard.

Can anyone help me so I can have access to both?

What are you trying to serve from those directories? If it's static contents, just copy the web.config from any of the content folders.
