duplicate h1 tags in orchard

Running seo tools over my orchard sites, it is finding they use more than one h1 tag on many pages. I know html5 allows for this stuff, but I'm a bit concerned that it might not be appreciated by google and co (at least not yet). Any thoughts on this? Wondering about changing my installations to only use one h1 per page for now.

You said it, html5 allows for it. I have never seen evidence that it affected SEO negatively. Feel free to change all templates you need to change if you disagree...

yeah i'll further into it... im less concerned about having multple h1's, as I am about having h1 with the same content on every page (which i don't know yet if this is happening or not). thanks Bertrand.

Just because something allows for it doesnt mean it should be done. Hierachically organising content like this has been standard practise for many years and I've always been led to believe (I'm not an SEO expert) it does impact on SEO. I just dont understand why you would do this what is the benefit?

Anyhow returning to my query.... How and where do I "Feel free to change all templates you need to change if you disagree."?

You can override all of the templates from any module using your custom theme. E.g. if you wanted to override the Parts.Title.cshtml template to change the h1 element to h2 for example, you would copy that file from the Title module (part of the Orchard.Core project) and paste it into the Views folder of your custom theme and make the change. Orchard will now pick up your version of the template instead of the one from the core module.

Because it is the recommendation from the spec (emphasis mine):

"The h1 through h6 elements are headings for the sections with which they are associated"
http://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/h1.html

Some more discussion about this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9281910/h1-and-semantic-html5

Bottomline is: this is a choice that we made, but if you don't like it, you can change it.
