Validation for New Comment on Blog Post detail page

The new comment form on my blog post detail page requires all the fields to be entered for the submission to go through. I'd like to change this so not all the fields are required to post a comment.

I see in the file: CommentsCreateViewModel.cs the members are decorated with attributes for validation. How would i override these attributes in my app? I take it just going in and editing these files isnt the way to go.

Also as a sub question with the form fails validation I don't see any error notifications show up on the form, I don't have jquery running on this site (using an 'alternative' framework) but even when the page posts back I don't see any validation failed text or anything. Is there a way I can fix this?

That's a really good question. I don't know if you can override just the validation without overriding a lot more.
