Orchard v.1.1.30.0
I have a simple Orchard site running on on a shared host. The App_Data/Logs is filling up with zero byte error files ("orchard-error-2011.05.31-01_52_37.268.log" etc).

I tried setting the config (Config/log4net.config) to OFF but it doesn't help. Since the files are 0 byte I'm not able to see what the error is.

Any ideas?

plus: Is it really a good idea to use log4net as logger ? : http://www.alteridem.net/2010/11/04/why-i-switched-from-log4net-to-nlog/

thanks

The empty log issue is this bug: http://orchard.codeplex.com/workitem/17774 (fixed in 1.2, which is expected this month)

On log4net, well, no matter your choice of dependency some will dislike it. We''ve been reasonably happy with this one so far.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I probably should have found that, but the search engine on codeplex is a little eh,  underwhelming.

I was just a little surprised that Orhcard doesn't use the newer NLog wich has some nice improvements over log4net (imo). As long as it log4net does what it should I guess threre are more important issues :)

Anyway, thanks too for such a nice product, looking forward to 1.2!
