System.Runtime.Serialization removed in web.config

In the web project's web.config there is this:

        <remove assembly="System.Runtime.Serialization, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" />

Is there any particular reason this is being removed? I am trying to connect up a WCF service and when I try to display data I get a type error in my razor view while enumerating a list I retrieved from the service. Keep in mind that I didn't do anything with this data, such as shove it in a model as this was just testing to make sure my service layer was working, but I'm curious to know why this is removed. Will adding it back in cause any issues? Is there something different I should make sure I am doing so that I don't have to add this assembly in if it does cause issues?

Thanks in advance,
