Sites on Orchard

Are there any other sites running on Orchard yet?

I'll start with one, fun to see that MIX11 works on Orchard

Actually there are several, and many more in the final stages of development prior to going live.

I think it would be great if there were a list of links somewhere (hint)

Anyway take a look at: http://www.nogginbox.co.uk/ by Richard Garside. He runs Orchard and has done some blog posts about it.

You could use the second best search engine and do an intext query for "Powered By Orchard". Like this.

Haven't checked all of them (stopped at page 8) and users can remove that string, especially larger sites, but nice to see most of them in one place.

I'm hoping to use Orchard (otherwise it will have to be DNN) but this thread is the only list of sample sites that I can find.  Google for Powered by Orchard did not produce anything very impressive.   Is there another page with links to sites using Orchard. please?   I'd like to see some working examples before making the effort to learn all about it!

There isn't a page with links, no, but if you tell us what kind of site you are looking for, we can provide a few (I don't know what impressive means to you ;).

I'm trying to determine how much effort it would be to migrate http://www.catchup.org/ to Orchard.   The site is currently on DNN V5 and uses DNN roles to control access to parts of the site.   Some custom modules have already been written but additional functions are needed that will require processing  a complex set of data.  I've inherited this site from another developer and I don't have any DNN skills and would prefer to put the effort into learning Orchard as it is MVC based.  I'd feel encouraged if you can point me at a site that has a similar presentation in terms of page layout and menu structures.   The client is keen that there should be few visible changes.  Thanks.

Hello all, I am currently looking to implement a CMS as a core system for our company running multiple websites. I really like Orchard and feel it is in tune with the Microsoft push of "reinventing" itself with the new look and feel of Windows, .NET, MVC, and visual studio. I also believe Orchard is built smarter than the other .NET open source competition, the only problem is there are very few case studies or live examples to help me convince others that Orchard is our best option. If anyone knows any more mainstream applications/sites powered by Orchard please let me know. Thanks!

@dcwest some people are working on it: http://showorchard.com, and it should be available soon.

I used it for the City of Davis (http://cityofdavis.org) web site. It is still a work in progress but is live as we continue to migrate content and functionality. We are using multitenancy for department/division separation and eventually for municipal role separation since reorgs tend to make a mess of data migration. It is replacing a 10 year old custom ColdFusion based site.

A few people I know are in similar situations to dcwest, trying to get their company/co-developers to take a look into Orchard, although hunting around the forums and twitter you can find a fair few sites. Is there any news of when http://showorchard.com will actually be available? They have been talking about it for months ^^

@heaser The site looks fairly simple, a lot of content but shouldn't be to bad. Orchard has a nice roles system that you can group your users with to allow access to only certain parts of the site: http://docs.orchardproject.net/Documentation/Builtin-features#OrchardContentPermissions(WebPIoffbydefault) . Orchard has no login widget out the box, which I noticed on your site. I wouldn't worry too much since Orchard will let you do pretty much whatever you want. Just need to get your head around it first. These sites have some features you seem to be looking for: http://www.intrinsys.co.uk/software/software , http://brandrepublicinsight.com/ . Hope that maybe made you feel slightly safer about taking on Orchard.
