extend profile properties

Oct 7, 2010 at 12:36 AM

Hey there,
Just wanted to know if it's easy and how to add properties to a user (age, sexe, name of the dog,...). There is a part about that in the official documentation but nothing in.
Thanks for your great job and long life to .NET Open Source Community !!!

Users are just a content type, so yes, you can add new fields and parts. You might want to look at that profile module that Nick built: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/orcharddiscussions/thread/716799b3-36e1-4e76-99ad-c1d6e57ee369/

Wouldn't it be far comfortable if it's integrated into the system?

It's a quite essencial feature

Less essential than widgets for example: not all sites need user profiles. We need to be very strict right now on what we choose to implement for 1.0. We're focusing for now on the remaining pieces of infrastructure that *can't* be made as modules.
