Please provide more details about your configuration. I can't reproduce this on my 1.7.1.

I'm using fresh install. Downloaded source code with Git. I'm using SQL CE as the database. I've enabled almost all modules except for :

Content Control Wrapper
Upgrade
Windows Azure Media
Media Picker
Media
Windows Azure Database
Windows Azure Output
Widget Control Wrapper
Setup

The code is on a separate drive wich I'm starting in Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 with IIS 8 Express without debugging. If you need to check I'll start a Teamviewer or Skype remote desktop.

I'm going to debug this and tell you where exactly it hangs.

The error happens when I enable Lucene indexing services. I created an Index in the Setting --> Indexes and the index is reporting 0 document. The error is still showing in that case. Went further by adding the index that I created to the Page Content Type, Updated the Index so that it gets some documents and still the error is showing.

A search index could have been added using a Recipe (see the 'Recipes' tab in 'Content').

For your indexing problem, can you check that the index you created is well selected in the Content Definition of the Content Type 'Page' for the indexing part

The index is checked on the Page Content Type. The Index is reporting 1 document in his store. And I'm testing by writing "Welcome" to the search text field. I'm still getting this error. As for the Recipe tab I don't see it in the Content section ; it's not there... ?!? Maybe you meant in the Module section ?!?

Works when using the Index creation Recipe. The Index needs to be named "Search" or else it will fail. Maybe this recipe should get executed automatically or else the error message could be more descriptive.
