ContentPartDriver required for creation of part record. Should not be required.

description

Creating a part with a record which is stored in the database requires a ContentPartDriver for the record to be created properly. Without a driver, no record is stored in the database.

Even if the ContentPartDriver is empty, this works. But I don't need to implement Display() or Editor() methods for my part so I shouldn't need a ContentPartDriver.

This is tricky and also true for any part. Actually for being able to "cast" an item to YourContentPart you need a driver (even empty) or to put it more direct: if you don't have a driver, YourContentPart will be welded onto the item as of type ContentPart but not YourContentPart.
