Out of box support for Oracle DB.

Won't do it. Look into the gallery which contains a module doing it for mysql.

Here is a workaround for this issue. But it needs code modifications of core modules.

I would much much rather see setup being sufficiently extensible that one could build a module for that.

Bertrand, yes it would be sufficient but right now we have sitation like in this thread http://orchard.codeplex.com/discussions/401440. The only problem is need to modify Orchard code to make it work on Oracle.

I agree that Oracle support out of the box would be an invaluable feature that would definitely increase the adoption rate of Orchard in the enterprise, which can only be a good thing for the community!
