MVC Project Guidance

Topics: Customizing Orchard, Writing modules

We're developing an application that will be the primary user-facing web presence for our group. We have several development teams developing Web-Based UIs using ASP.NET MVC 4.0. The basic strategy is that we will integrate the MVC Web Apps as modules in Orchard and they will receive the benefits of common style sheets, look and feel, etc.

To this end I have two questions:
  1. Is there a set of development guidelines for our teams using ASP.NET to build their UIs that will ease their transition into the Orchard Environment?
  2. I've yet to be successful taking a MVC App and getting it to run under Orchard. Can someone point me to a detailed step-by-step set of instructions for migrating an MVC App to Orchard? I've seen a couple of posts, but they never seem to match my projects.
Thanks in advance.

An MVC app under Orchard is just as you would create an MVC application, but define it as a module. Include a Module.txt in your project and Orchard will pick it up as a module. Just enable it in the dashboard and you are good to go.

Orchard modules are comparable with Area's in MVC.
