Feature to overwrite existing media in MediaLibrary

Say for example you have an annual report (PDF) that updates once a year. You have links that point to this report in various places across the site (so, the links reference the PDF file path).

When the report is updated the following year, I see two options:
  • upload the new version as a brand new media item (then change all your links to point to the new file path)
  • delete the existing media item, then upload the new report with the same file path (and hope nothing else breaks)
It would be handy to be able to select the existing media item and overwrite with a new document. Publish date and length (for a document) might be updated. File path, content id, and the other static properties should remain the same.

UI could be an "Overwrite" green button in that Properties sidebar that shows up when browsing the MediaLibrary (e.g. next to Delete | Clone).

Thoughts?

This is something open for 1.x, possibly be included in 1.9: https://orchard.codeplex.com/workitem/20512

Ahh, thank you Zoltan! I searched for and did not find that related issue.
