correct orphan Media

For whatever action I did or did not do ! ... suddenly I don't see the Media (images, documents) when in the Media/Admin panel!
However, the site works correct; I also can load new media but I NEVER see the old ones when in the admin media section.
According to Bleroy's articel:
Dude, where are my images (Dec.4 2014)
quote
If the images are only missing from the Media section of the admin, then the problem is that you’ve created orphan media.
end quote

So, I assume I created 'orphan Media'. But again, I have no idea what I did or did not do!

I can find the records of the images/docs in the .sdf DB:
'Orchard_Framework_ContentItemRecord' and in
'Orchard_Framework_ContentItemVersionRecord'
Also: I have the web.config file in the Media folder.
This is 1.8.1; I ran the 1.7 media upgrade (!after I missed the images in 'admin')!

? Problem: I have no idea how to get rid of this orphan state ?

Thanks in advance for your time and ideas

ooops ... just found it!

It looked really like quote below!
However, in dashboard -->media: when changing for 'Ordered by' to 'title' I see all images/docs correctly.
the other options i.e. recently created, published, modified do NOT give me images!?

I'm asking myself why is/stays the title not the default?
hope nobody spent time!
