I was thinking of pushing a change to Setup to allow a user to choose their default culture.

Good Idea, or Bad Idea?

The only downside I see is that the Setup Screen is growing in size.

The upside is that the site will be setup in your culture. (The Default will still be en-US of course)

LEt's talk about it at the meeting. An option could be to use the machine's default culture.

I thought about that too... But my machine for example is en-US... But I want to build an Arabic site for example.

Then you go to Settings, ....
I could extend this thread about any data there is in the Settings.
An alternative could be to have an Advanced Setup section with this kind of stuff.

I think it would be nice to have more control over the default settings during setup, such as the default culture. If the setup screen becomes too large, we could either collapse the non-critical settings under an "Additional Settings" section. Then again, I will never use it - I create recipes instead and execute those.

Yes long to discuss, with the database collation for exemple.

Yes an Advance Settings section would be my preference, collapsible of course.

I think setting the DB connection string is more advanced then choosing the culture, so I propose we use something like "Additional Settings".
