Media Library listing document titles instead of icons?

Hi all,

Re Orchard 1.8, is there a way to have the media library show document titles (filenames, or title fields) instead of icons?

Media library has a "Document" filter (Show drop-down) which seems completely pointless given that all documents (PDFs) are shown as the same thumbnail icon without any title or filename.

There must be a way I suspect, surely we wouldn't expect Authors to click each icon one by one to find the document they wish to reference? We've at least 75 documents to be made available.

Did you find a solution for this. We have a similar issue as well.

thanks in advance.

The Media Library doesn't support "list view", only "thumbnail view" yet. There are no concrete plans as of yet to add this, but there has been chatter on revamping the media library at some point. Perhaps you could create an issue for this particular feature on GitHub so we can keep track of it?

Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate it. I will add it to GitHub.

In the meantime, what is the best way to "override" the documents' view for a project?

You're welcome.

Well, you could override the necessary Razor views in your ow module - make sure that your module depends on Orchard.MediaLibrary so that your views will be used instead of the ones being overridden.

Hope that helps.
