I have a clients site that will shut down the AppPool on occation. Sometimes I can reproduce it though random usage. First I get an error OutOfMemoryException traced from StringBuilder.ToString() on rendering a page. Then the site goes semi-unresponsive for a few minutes untill the AppPool simply turns off. Can someone help?

What amount of memory is available for your app ?
Are you running in 64bits ?

Is shape tracing running?

It's running on a shared hosting platform Arvixe so not sure bits. Another .NET CMS is running in the same server space without issue. It was working fine for the first two months and nothing has been done except editing content text. No new modules, layout changes, etc. Shape tracing isn't running. I uninstalled the cache modules last week hoping that would clear up memory or whatever but the problem came back.

We experienced the same problem and the solution was: disable unused and not needed modules (of course shape tracing should disable in production) and on IIS App Pool (if you have access otherwise ask your hosting provider) set "Enable 32 bit apps" to false.
