Persistent notifications/messages?

Hi,

Is there currently in Orchard a persistent notification system? There is ofcourse INotifier but its messages are eventually lost.

I'm looking for a notification system for site users that are persistent. So that users can read them when they want to and even read back old messages.

Any ideas?

Because it's based on an interface, you can implement your own messaging channel that is persistent.

Yup, that's the plan. But first I wanted to check if I didn't miss anything and going to reinvent the wheel.

Tnx

Well, check the gallery just in case, but I don't know of a module that already does that.

Actually we at Lombiq started to design a persistent notification system on top of the built-in notifier. It's not meant as a private messaging implementation but something enhancing notifications: so you could close, let fade out, or persist notifications until closed.
