Deploy to GoDaddy

Hi,

I created an Orchard site on my local machine using webmatrix, and then used the publish (via ftp option) to load all of the files to the website, but am not having any success in getting it going. I have looked around for solutions, the best was probably:

The Publish (Check) Compatibility failed -
  • the .net framework version was unknown (I changed the version of .net to the 4 to 4.5 option in GoDaddy admin).
  • The Simple HTML page returned Not available.
The database is a SQL Server Compact database.

I am obviously missing something, and would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Jason

I don't think I've ever heard of a successful deployment to GoDaddy, even when we were supporting medium trust. Make sure your account is configured for .NET 4.0 or 4.5 with full trust.

Thanks for getting back to me. One of the differences is that webmatrix install is using IIS8 Express. I notice that GoDaddy is using IIS7. Is this difference going to cause me problems?

No. That won't. But that's not to say that you won't have any other problems.
