I've downloaded the source version of Orchard 1.6.1 and deployed the cloud service project inside the Orchard.Source\src\Orchard.Azure\Orchard.Azure.sln solution. The cloud service project is Orchard.Source\src\Orchard.Azure\Orchard.Azure.CloudService\Orchard.Azure.CloudService.ccproj

The only difference is been that I changed the DataConnectionString and Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString from development to actual blob storage.

How does the team test functionality with Azure? Did I miss a necessary step ? How can I fix the issue I'm seeing?

EDIT: After spending a day on this issue we think it's a bug. Bug report at Details moved from here into the ticket
