I am new to orchard cms . I have created basic websie using orchard 1.6 .
I have publish it using visual studio 2010. i have used file system publish method . later i have FTP the code on godaddy webhosting (http://rayyantechnologies.co.uk/) using filezilla .

the asp.net version on webhosting is 4.0 and iis 7.0 . pipe line mode is integrated.
I have given read and write permissions to all the directories and subdirectories.

but as i browse http://rayyantechnologies.co.uk/ it display error "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."

I have read an article http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/2531/what-trust-level-can-i-use-when-running-aspnet.

what i can understand is godaddy support medium trust level on web hosting accounts .

is there need to change host? if it is then what host will support orchard website.

i have configured same code on my local iis . it is working perfectly.

Need Guidance please.

hi anilaasher,

i have some experiences in deploying Orchard on shared hosting (http://www.pavietnam.vn/vn/).

Step 1: setup site on my local machine.
Step 2: i use the sql server database, so i need to generate *.sql file from my database.
Step 3: run that sql file at step 2 on my remote database.
Step 4: upload all current source code to server
Step 5: make a request for writing permission on App_Data folder.
Step 6: edit sql connection string information on setting.txt with new suitable info
Done

sorry anilaasher because of my mistakes on english

Medium trust is not supported by Orchard. You will have to choose a different hosting company.

The key point is to set the trust level in the web.config to Full

Since Orchard runs in full trust you need to set that in the web.config and make sure that your ASP.NET is 4.0/4.5

Reference: http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/2531/what-trust-level-can-i-use-when-running-aspnet

Change
<!--<trust level="Medium" originUrl="" />-->
to be
<trust level="Full" />
