Speeding up compilation/rebuilding

Is there any way I can speed up the time it takes for a page to load after a re-build?

Every time I make a change to a .cs file in a module I need to halt the debugger, make the change, re-launch, and it takes 30-60s for the page to load first time around. This is getting really frustrating as even minor changes take so long to re-launch.

Is there any way I can speed up development? I've got a fairly decent PC... Core i3 3.10GHz, 4GB RAM, Corsair Force 3 SSD.

30-60s is not normal. You should profile the application to determine what's slowing it down.

Do you have any recommendations on what to use to do the profiling? I had a search and I just got more confused :/

Thanks!

Try Ctrl+F5 instead of F5 to launch Orchard. It's faster this way because it doesn't attach the VS debugger to the site. I always use Ctrl+F5 unless I specifically need to step through code, in which case I do F5.

Make sure Intellitrace is not enabled in Visual Studio
