How Do I Prepare SQL Server Database

The installation docs don't give information about how to prepare for hosting Orchard on SQL Server. The setup screen says "Use and existing SQL Server database," but no database yet exists for Orchard and I can't find instructions on what's needed to create one.

Is anyone using Orchard with a full SQL Server? Can you point me to the instructions you used to prepare the Orchard database on your server?

I don't know if there are specific instructions, but all you need to do is create an empty database on your SQL Server instance. Orchard's setup screen will create the tables.

Thank you, sfmskywalker :)

What about Install.sql that comes with the download package?

Do I first create an empty database and then run Install.sql after making these changes:
  • PlaceholderForDb -> the name I chose for the new, empty database
  • PlaceholderForUser -> the user name that will be included in Orchard's connect string ???
  • PlaceholderForPassword -> the password associated with the username above
And then simply run Orchard for the first time and let it work its magic?

No problem. Ah, just ignore that file, you don't need to do anything with it, and frankly I don't know what you would need it for. Someone else may know.
Just create your database and let Orchard do its magic. :)
