We are evaluating a couple of .NET CMS's like Orchard, DNN and Kentico for our upcoming crm systems and their portals renovations.
One of the things that in most Crm/Erp/Cms systems exists, is the possibility to restrict access to fields based on user roles/permissions.
To clarify myself, the Field-level security let administrators restrict users’ access to view and edit specific fields in for example:
- Detail and edit pages
- Related lists
- List views
- Connect Offline
- Email and mail merge templates
- Custom links
- The portal
- Synchronized data
- Imported data
The fields that users see on detail and edit pages are a combination of page layouts and field-level security settings. The most restrictive field access settings of the two always apply. For example, if a field is required in the page layout and read-only
in the field-level security settings, the field-level security overrides the page layout and the field will be read-only for the user.
My colleague and I have looked around in the code and couldn't find anything that looks like it. Did we overlooked it?
Does anyone know how to achieve Field-level security in Orchard?
