This thread is to discuss comment improvements in 1.7.
Comments are being refactored in order for anti-spam to work consistently with other content items.
Threaded comments have been added as an option.

Current state of the dev:
- Refactored to use drivers for Display and Edit (@Piedone)
- Removed the current implementation of Akismet
- Use Orchard.Antispam parts (reCaptcha, Spam filters, Submition limit)
- Threaded discussions
- Ability to delete spam as it is detected if you don't care about false positive
- Ability to require users to be authenticated to comment
Can be demonstrated during next meeting.

Now I have reCaptcha enabled on my website, I have absolutely not more spam in comments. Drawback is that now I'd like to know how much spam I am saving ;). Maybe it could be a feature.
What do you think, should we be able to see historical information about each spam or just a counter is sufficient ? This would not be content items for sure, just a record to have metadata, and deleting it would be safe. Or maybe a counter for each period
(day, week, month, year, ...). This could use the Voting module then.

Yes. Aggregation per day or maybe per hour seems enough. Knowing how much spam you're dodging is interesting info yes.
