Just a question.

Would is be possible to remove the jQuery UI without affecting the functionality of the Orchard CMS?

Can someone just say "no" or "it's more work than it's worth"? Feels like no one wants to say it

I've got a feeling it's a bad idea.  The idea that's been put forward is to remove jQueryUI and add jQuery Tools because the jQueryUI is bloated

Is the fact that it is 'bloated' a problem for the backend?

I think it's more of a personal preference

"it's more work than it's worth" would be my vote then

In the dashboard I think only the Date Time picker is using it. Have you found some other references ?

Also, do you have evidence?

I'm asking because a senior member of the project team I'm working on wants to do it.

I looked around and I could only find the date picker using it too.

As for evidence that the jQueryUI being bloated, the only reference I found was http://marcgrabanski.com/article/jquery-tools-vs-jquery-ui and a few other articles.

Since it's already integrated I don't really see the point in removing it and then adding a different jQuery library.

Thanks. I would recommend pushing back on this. Doesn't seem worth the trouble.
