I'm interested in using Orchard CMS.  Our current web site I have used Visual Studio to create using .NET (

1. Will I be able to continue to combine Visual Studio development with Orchard.

2. Is Orchard able to use gridviews, repeater classes, support the login security model of .Net/Visual Studio (Using the Access Database module - but happy to go to SQL).

Appreciate understanding what Orchard is capable of before I jump in!

Thanks for your help!

1. Absolutely.

2. grid views and repeater, that sounds like web forms stuff? If so, then no, Orchard is built on MVC. Which has, of course, a foreach loop :) Login is handled entirely by Orchard itself (not using the provider model if that's what you mean). As for data access, it uses NHibernate as an ORM (abstracted away using the Repository pattern and a content manager service). You can however use any database access technique you like if it comes to accessing other tables or even other datasources.
