Default Tenant no longer available, cannot access Tenant settings

I've got two tenants, let's say www.host1.com and www.host2.com, but I can't access the tenant settings in the admin menu when I'm logged in to either of them. Is this behaviour by design?

When trying to get at the default Tenant, presumably used when neither host name matches, I visit http://localhost/orchard where it's sitting but get a 404 error. Have I messed something up do you think?

The tenant information are only accessible from the default one by design. You should check how to access the default tenant by looking into its settings, in App_data/Sites/Default

Thanks for your help - the settings file in the location you mentioned had a value of "null" for host name. I'm guessing that means the default tenant isn't bound to a host name and can just be accessed by the regular path (localhost/orchard in my case). A restart of the app pool fixed the problem though and the 404 error went away :) Happy times.
