Orchard, Azure and Custom Module with EF

Topics: Writing modules

I have rather uncommon situation but maybe somebody can give me some hints. My custom module is accessing external DB thought EF 4.3. Everything is OK on Windows Server, problem starts when I try to use it on Azure. Just to be clear, Orchard on Azure works fine. I can’t manage to configure Orchard + custom module which depends on separate Azure SQL database and EF. I have added EF nuget packages to my module and to Orchard.Web.Azure, then when I add connection string pointing to Azure SQL, whole Orchard web site is not accessible (error 500). I can’t find any error logs. Generally what is the best way to troubleshoot Orchard on Azure?

Error logs are in blob storage.

Generally multiple connections over multiple servers imply DTC be enabled on all machines where Orchard and Databases are run. Also temporarily enable detail errors on orchard web on IIS to get an idea what errors are thrown.
