Hey.
I am new to Orchard, but I've made a local site and I found great capacity to achieve quite complex and professional site with minimal effort!
My problem starts when I uploaded to the remote server.
I get the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Could not load file or assembly 'Autofac.Configuration, Version=2.5.2.830, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=17863af14b0044da' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Autofac.Configuration, Version=2.5.2.830, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=17863af14b0044da' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'Autofac.Configuration, Version=2.5.2.830, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=17863af14b0044da' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Is there any way to fix this without interfering much in the code? Unless someone explain to me patiently what I do.

I appreciate the help I can provide.

Maybe your hosting company has a weird custom trust level set-up?

Thanks for responding.

Actually, I have no idea!
But then I installed in this server nopCommerce sites without any problem.

Perhaps it is best to upload all files again?

This time I did with Matrix for the first time. I usually use Filezilla.

I decided to upload the entire site again and this is the result:

When refreshing the page, get this:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Access to the path '\\hmfsw\web\DTC008\pierdapesodeinmediato.com\public_html\App_Data\Dependencies' is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\hmfsw\web\DTC008\pierdapesodeinmediato.com\public_html\App_Data\Dependencies' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6 and IIS 7, and the configured application pool identity on IIS 7.5) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

Looks like your website doesn't have write access to the App_Data folder.

Apr 5, 2012 at 9:02 AM

All folders are read / write

Well, it looks to me that this isn't an issue whith Orchard, but a configuration issue on the webserver. Did you show the entire error message to your hosting provider? Could they try to give 'everyone' access to App_Data. Just for the sake if isolating the problem, of course.

Solved

Although I had configured the hosting panel on "asp.net 4.0 Integrated". Nightsupport people had to make an unanticipated change (which was not on the panel):

5.3.10 Fast CGI php / Net framework 4.0 30319 (fx 4.0) / Integrated

Ready!

They tell me that, perhaps, impersonating the application (<identity impersonate="true"/>), is solved!?

What do you think?

Thank you very much sfmskywalker, your suggestion led me to persist.
