I am experiencing a nightmare in upgrading an instance of Orchard to 1.3. This is just one of many problems that I am having. I have not touched IIS for a while, and it has been running .Net 4. I do not understand how the following error can happen. It is supposed to occur only if the .Net 4 is not used.

Could anyone offer some clue?

Server Error in '/Home' Application.

your app pool is not configured to use 4.0.

Thanks for your prompt tip.  The website is configured to use DefaultAppPool.  I have made sure that DefaultAppPool is using 4.0.  Anything else that I should check?

You are right. The app was using app pool "Orchard" even though the website uses DefaultAppPool. My apology.
