Managing large volumes of pages

Hi,

I'm investigating switching from our current CMS and Orchard looks like a good option, however our current system has a 1000 + pages and growing.

With the pages being added and edited by non techies.

From what I can see the page management doesn't seem to flow as well as it could, (we currently have hierarchy structure that makes it very easy to drill in add and edit).

I haven't looked at the orchard system in great detail so I my have missed something, or just thinking about page management from the wrong perspective.

Is there a good way to work with 1000+ pages?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Calum,

Have you thought about using the search index to provide navigation of the pages, Orchard can index the contenttypes stored. I am assuming your pages have tags and possibly even a taxonomy attached. With the combination of Tags and taxonomy you should be able to build a even better navigation experience for editing by building your own MVC module.

Sebastien Ros produced a video showing how Orchard could be extended using MVC. Worth watching..
