Here's the site: http://untyenet000.web712.discountasp.net/

1.  A Page called "Home" is set as the home page.   Navigating to http://untyenet000.web712.discountasp.net/home throws a 404 error.  The Permalink is set correctly to http://untyenet000.web712.discountasp.net/home.

2. The page Home does not have any content. What is the correct approach to prevent the home page meta data (title & date) from displaying unless there is content?  The layout uses ThemeMachine as a base.

Thanks for any help!

1. mmh, yes, that is the expected behavior. If you set a page as the homepage, it is available under / and nothing else.

2. Placement.info: http://orchardproject.net/docs/Understanding-placement-info.ashx

Thank for your reply.

1. Then I must not understand the usage of the permalink. Can you please explain just a bit further or point me to the relevant docs?

2.  Thanks, I'll look into the placement info.

The home page checkbox is creating an exception to how permalinks otherwise work. If you want that page to be accessible under /home, don't check the box.
