Visual Studio MVC specific context menu options

Topics: Writing modules

After creating a new module via codegen, are the MVC context menu options in VS2010 missing?

I have added:

<FlavorProperties GUID="{E53F8FEA-EAE0-44A6-8774-FFD645390401};{349c5851-65df-11da-9384-00065b846f21}">

to my module .proj file and they now appear.

Is there a reason for these options not being there? Some of the videos I have watched use these options when creating modules.

What is the reason for them not being there? I am starting to like Orchard :)

Yes: if a user of your module does not have MVC installed (which happens more than you may think), Visual Studio is going to refuse to load the project. It's an unfortunate choice that we were forced to make. Ideally, VS tooling would not rely on project guid, but that's unfortunately not our choice to make.

That does make sense. It is no real trouble to add the entries during development time and then remove them later.
