In order to support MySQL in Orchard you'd need to implement a new
DataServicesProvider. This data provider can be hooked up, for instance, in the setup module
for orchard under a new feature. A few other small tweaks to the setup are required to be able to input parameters like the connection string.
I've uploaded an example
into the gallery under:
Please note that this
does NOT include the required DLL's so u'd have to get those after deploying this setup module in replacement to the one that ships with Orchard.
Also note that none
of the suggested providers seems to work under medium trust OOB. As such, you may have constraints in some hosting environments.
