Migrating content types to Orchard

In my proprietary MVC CMS I've implemented various types of content like Sections, jQuery TabGroup with Tabs, slideshow, image gallery and ad rotators. How hard will it be to move those to Orchard? What should I be looking at when implementing those? Content parts, content types, modules?

Also, if we base our future web development on Orchard, how many years of continued Orchard development can we count on?

That's hard to say, it depends how close the concepts are between Orchard and your CMS. I'd say since you're MVC as well, chances are it would be easier than from other platforms entirely but there will probably still be challenging parts.

As for future Orchard development, the core team is committed for several years (that's part of the rules to be in the Outercurve Foundation) and we are investing in that for the long run. There is also the open source nature of the platform that ensures the future support by the community.
