Custom themes and settings

Nov 27, 2010 at 6:21 PM

I know that themes can have settings like an ordinary module, but wanted to know is it the right way to do it in Orchard? Or maybe there's some different way to implement theme settings I just haven't heard of?

I have a fully "once" working example I can share with you, but some changes in the core broke this functionality. I will open an issue for that. It prevents Site Settings to be loaded from theme.

It would be great if you could send me the example.

I think the theme settings feature is needed - eg. for customising colour palette (like some Drupal themes do).

And one thing came to my mind when thinking about theme settings - maybe it'd be better to divide module settings and theme settings in Settings page? Or maybe render each module and theme settings on different tab/collapsible panel? I recently wrote a module which had lots of settings and the page grew really long...
